Faster. Circles.

Dear Izzy, Max, and Kate,

You play on the tire swing

on Saturdays at the playground behind our house.

You girls sit on the tire while Max spins you around

again. Again.

Again until I’m dizzy from just watching. I look away while you spin.

Faster. Circles.

And you squeal and scream debating where

the tire swing is transporting you to each time.

“Santa Clause Land.”

“Batman City.”

“The King’s Castle.”

“New York City”

Each time the tire stops I’m there:

Santa, the Joker, the King, a Polar Bear (in NY city?). Different voices for each, though the King sounds a lot like Santa.

Worlds away.

Just around the block.

I’m always there. Even in your wildest adventures and imagination.

On the tire swing. Into the wilderness. Back again.

And then home for lunch.

I love you,

– Daddy
